UPDATED 5.3.2022 – It’s that time of year again! Everyone is starting to get excited for their spring break vacation or are counting down the days to their upcoming summer beach trip. After going to the beach for several decades and having been a Florida local myself, I have found what items I took and didn’t need, and what items I didn’t realize I needed, but are in my beach bag now.
From items to help with sand removal to items you probably didn’t know were out there, I’ve got you covered. You’ll find items that will help you comply with Florida state laws regarding hand-held devices as well as be compliant with pool and beach rules regarding glass.
Did you know that Florida is now officially hands-free? That means no using any hand-held devices while behind the wheel. Sorry, I know how tempting it is to take photos of Crab Island and the Destin Harbor as you pass over the Marler Bridge. You may be subject to a fine and let’s face it, that money would be much better spent on a bowl of gumbo or a bushwhacker at AJ’s or Bud and Alley’s. *Please be responsible when drinking alcohol. Uber is available in the Destin and 30A area.
Another thing to keep in mind is that glass is not allowed on the beach. Beer in a can and wine in a rubber cup may not be your thing, but there are ways to still enjoy your favorite beverage without breaking the rules. And I’ve included those in the lookbook below.
In the widget lookbook below, you can click through my list of beach necessities. Each item is clickable for easier shopping, has a brief description and price below it. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to leave them in the comments. To see more beach necessities on Amazon, click here.

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to bookmark and share this post with other beachgoers!
